Butterfly Ship
If you ever find yourself
In a land not of your own
Explore every webbed corner,
Turn up every twig and stone.
You ne’er know what you may find
Deep within a forest dark
A mystic black unicorn,
A winged elf upon a lark.
If you ever find yourself
In a land not of your own
Walk along the emerald path
Your destination unknown.
At the end you may discover
A Castle with towers strong.
A kind Queen, a ruby crown,
A noble quest to belong.
If you ever find yourself
In a land not of your own
Stroll to the crisp seaside blue
To hear the mermaid’s sweet tones.
There you may luckily see
Within a tranquil ocean cove
A wooden ship of brown hue
With butterfly masts of mauve.
If you ever find yourself
In a land not of your own
Climb aboard this wondrous ship
Find treasure marked by death’s bone.
You ne’er know what you may find
Sailing the uncharted seas,
Fighting a pirate battle,
Or dragons soaring with ease.
So, if you do find yourself
In a land not of your own
Chance to have an adventure
Your tapestry yet to be sewn.
